Do you plan intricately ahead for your shots on your project or just wing it? Well, it depends! Cinematographer Jim Ross advises you that it depends on the shoot. When working on big budgets of course you plan ahead. But when working on independent shoots and fun gigs it is not always possible due to budgets and time. So how do you get the best shots in these circumstances? Here are some tips on how to make big decisions on limited time and budgets, and still get the shots you need to make your project look great. I would like to note this was shot before the COVID19 Pandemic which is why we are not wearing masks. All of our shoots at the time of this posting we work within the CDC COVID guidelines. Filmmakers are also believers in science since we work in science everyday.
